POSITION: FINANCE MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
DUTY STATION: HEAD OFFICEDAR ES SALAAM
VALIDITY PERIOD: 23/02/2022
We are hiring Finance Manager who will base at FINCA head Office Dar es salaam

ROLE PURPOSE

  • The Finance Manager is the senior member of the finance and administration department and heads accounts, reconciliation and Treasury functions while reporting directly to the Head of
    Finance.
  • The Finance Manager will play an integral part in developing long-term goals including writing of proposals for investment/risk analysis that will help in growing business besides implementing financial strategies created by management. Ensuring that Finance department complies with all applicable legal, regulatory, and operational risk requirements to minimize the risks which could emanate from non-compliance of policies and procedures.
  • Is the principal custodian of effective and efficiently designed and implemented controls and operational risk activities in the Finance space.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Supervise all the activities and staff of the accounting section, reconciliation, and treasury
function
• Train staff on the systems and procedures within the department and others on budget and
budget variance
• Review cash reconciliations and consolidate both monthly cash account and petty cash
reconciliation.
• Ensure the timely preparation and the accuracy of the bank reconciliation, follow-up and
clear non reconciled items on time
• Review and maintain accurate account opening in all regions and monitor irregular
accounts, which are dormant or have negative balances.
• Reviews and monitors branch transitory accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries into the accounting module to take up adjustments,
reclassifications, corrections, monthly and yearly accounting transactions upon the
approval of the Head of Finance.
• Regular review of the accounting records.
• Review petty cash settlement reports of head office and all branches
• Reviews and ensures that all cash expenses and bank transactions are entered into the
accounting system
• Coordinates annual inventory of fixed assets in all branches and Head Office
• Maintains accounting module processes: Updating of chart of accounts and financial
reporting structure according to local GAAP or IFRS
• Execute and monitor daily closure of session and clear all the system related issues.
• Execute and monitor monthly closure processes
• Ensuring preparation of accurate and timely monthly reports including ALCO reports,
income statement, Balance sheet, unapplied, overpayments, cash flow.
• Prepare or review of all Head office report and ensuring that they are submitted on time.
• Prepares or reviews reports to the Central Bank
• Prepare or review the financial statement reports Monthly, Quarterly, and annually.
• Ensure that financial reports comply with IFRS and other reporting regulations.
• Prepare or review other performance reports such as branch profitability report, product
analysis reports and others.
• Ensure policies and procedures related to payroll is adhered to and monitor all tax
computations and payroll payout is made on a timely and organized manner
• Prepare reports to the tax authorities monthly, quarterly, and annually
• Coordinating the preparation of the budget and projections process for the Bank,
Monitoring and controlling the budget during its implementation/ execution
• Preparation or review of policies and operating procedures related to accounts,
reconciliation and treasury.
• Ensuring staff under his/her supervision follow the policies and procedures in performing
their duties.
• Facilitate internal and external audits in conformity with FINCA Impact Finance, Central
Bank and other government agency (i.e. tax) reporting requirements.
• Represent the Head of Finance in tax and other government agencies’ inspections
• Oversee proper cash management, to ensure that branches have enough money to disburse
to both savings and credit clients as well as enforcing the right security measures to cash
handling

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

  • Senior Accountant
  • Treasury Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Accounting with CPA/ACCA or Chartered Accountancy Equivalent required.
  • MBA Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years (2 years as supervising accounting functions).
  • Worked with at least one accounting computer systems.
  • Strong experience in financial management of a company, desirably a financial institution.
  • A sound knowledge of microfinance, principles, and practices of banking.

We are hiring Head of Digital Banking who will base at FINCA head Office, Dar es salaam.

ROLE PURPOSE

  • The Head of Digital Banking (HDB) is responsible for ensuring that FINCA’s digital banking business strategy is optimal, given current and emerging digital realities, opportunities and threats.
  • The HDB champions the use of information and technology in business model design, and all aspects of the business to create business success.
  • HDB is responsible for managing and growing relationships with in-country stakeholders for enabling Bank’s revenue growth from Digital Banking Products.
    ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develop a comprehensive digital strategy and drive the implementation including but not limited to go-to-market strategy, strategic partnerships and business growth.
  • Leads the process to identify and evaluate internal digital asset capabilities and strengths.
  • Assesses external digital opportunities and threats as key inputs to making the best decisions on business strategy.
  • Drive and lead business development by new commercial partnerships for all the Bank’s existing and new digital products and services.
  • Leads the development of the digital business strategy and road map, and ensures its integration with FINCA’s strategic objectives.
  • Provides a single point of coordination and executive oversight for all digital initiatives and transformation projects.
