Precision Air was founded in 1993 as a private charter air transport company, initially operating a five-seat Piper Aztec aircraft. Its primary focus was on offering connections for tourists visiting Tanzania’s renowned natural attractions, such as Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Zanzibar Island, and other destinations across the country, with Arusha as its main base.
Today, Precision Air is headquartered in Dar es Salaam, the commercial hub of Tanzania. The airline provides scheduled flights, charter services, and cargo transport, all of which have been expanding rapidly. In May 2009, the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) granted the company a self-handling license, and ground handling operations began in November of the same year.
The airline is also in the process of acquiring a third-party ground handling license from TCAA. As Tanzania’s growing demand for air travel and its shift towards a free-market economy increased, Precision Air expanded its operations, maintaining Arusha as its central hub for scheduled flights.
