Tanzania Forest Services (TFS): The Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency is a semi-autonomous government body established under the Executive Agencies Act (Cap. 245 Revised Edition 2009). Its mandate is to sustainably manage the nation’s forest and bee resources to meet the social, economic, ecological, and cultural needs of current and future generations.

TFS oversees approximately 506 natural forest reserves covering 13.6 million hectares, alongside 16 forest plantations and six bee reserves. Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA): Established in 2014 through Government Notice No. 135, the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.

TAWA’s primary role is to manage and conserve wildlife resources outside the National Parks and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, covering areas such as Game Reserves, Game Controlled Areas, and Wildlife Management Areas. The authority is responsible for law enforcement against poaching and illegal wildlife trade, managing human-wildlife conflicts, conducting wildlife censuses, and implementing habitat management strategies
